CAD exploration
Initial CAD exploration aimed to figure out the best internal layout of the cart, moving the required equipment around in different configurations that would not only fit every required piece, but also make them easily accesible.
The initial exploration also aimed to best model the slide-out workspaces that we at the time felt were the most efficient approach.

Eventually, the internal layout was finalized to have a slide-out shelf at the bottom of the cart that would house the printer, allowing for the printer to live on that shelf without needing to be removed, and still keeping it within easy reach of both employees. The employees would sit on either end of the cart, behind either of the slide-out workspaces at the top of the cart. This freed up the center of the cart for branding so that the mobile DMV unit could still be identified by passerbys from a distance. Additionally, because the printer would live inside the cart, all cables and wires would as well. This meant that holes were made in the sides of the cart to allow for power grommets to be included for laptop charging and plugging in hand scanners, while also creating an opening to allow for a hidden power strip to be connected to a wall, powering the entire cart.
