CAD finalization

Banking on our idea of stacking the workspaces, we attempted to model a way that they could easily fit with one another in a stacked layout while also unfolding to an even position.

It was early in this second round of development that we realized that we could have the cart handles and the workspace braces be one in the same. This approach, however, forced one workspace to be narrower than the other, but luckily, still within an average workspace size.

The largest obstacle that needed to be tackled was having the workspaces unfold to be at even heights. This was solved by designing custom sliding hinges that would allow the workspaces to slide down to a set level equal on both sides, then easily slide back up to be folded back into transport mode.

As an added bonus, the removal of the sliding workspaces completely cleared up the top of the inside of the cart and allowed for more storage space. We saw this as an opportunity to not only add another storage area, but also as a way to add extra branding space. By using the top of the cart as a lid for the storage space, it would lift up to be parallel to the front of the cart, creating one large front facing rectangular space that could be used for larger branding that better advertises the presence of the mobile DMV unit, which is still out of the way and undisturbed by the two workspaces.
