Our final iteration of the mobile DMV revitalization process resulted in the DMV Direct, a mobile unit designed to make the process of setting up at events, transporting equipment to events, and cleaning everything up, far easier and faster for DMV employees. This is achieved with the cart’s specialized internal storage layout meant to neatly store each of the pieces of equipment needed by every mobile DMV unit. There are access holes cut out of the shelves to allow for cables to be wired through to a main power strip, which makes it so equipment can be charged when needed and larger equipment, such as the document scanner and printer, don’t need to be taken out at all and can simply stay in the cart while it is being used. The internal wiring also keeps the cable management organized and hidden from the outside, maintaining a more professional appearance to customers and passerbys. The cart’s handles double as the braces for the workspaces so that each workspace can confidently withstand weight and constant pressure. The top storage’s lid increases the front branding space of the cart and brings the branding to a higher viewpoint to be more in line with one’s eyesight, as well as helping the branding stand out far more.
